Yeah, the way you guys go on about the pokemon, it's pretty obvious they're not just pets. The powers, too, sort of don't fit with pets. They're like battle partners or allies. To be honest, it's a little disturbing sometimes, but that's more just because of how powerful they sound.

I think folks see he's an oversized, cute and cuddly mouse and think 'pet.' The whole electrocution thing alone says it's something else entirely. If he was a pet, would you really put up with that? Would a whole bunch of trainers like you? Probably not... but it's not something I really understand well.

[ Doesn't... Exactly make him feel better, but-- ] Well, yeah... Everything has consequences.

It's the same thing with people.

That's not quite what I meant. I'm not always good at explaining these things. Ummm, they're too special and unique to just be pets? You guys treat them too much like friends or family to think of them that way, and they're like no pets I've ever seen, even the cute and cuddly ones.

[ He is so confused... With all that she says, he doesn't get how he's not easily stringing what she means. Weird, he was sure that he should have felt a little offended before, but now he's not sure. Obviously going to let it slide. ]

So you think some of them are cute and cuddly...? [ He's curious as to which did she meet if any. ]

There was this fluffy Dragon bird thing I think. It was a little weird looking, but it was cute. I think I saw another one that was a little more scary, big red dragon looking thing. And yours, well I think someone else said they had them and he's kinda cute too. [She hadn't actually met his, but she'd seen the other one. It was a bit like a fuzzy stuffed animal in some ways.]

There's a lot of different types, aren't there?

Yeah. Some are more scary than others, so... [ He was only wondering if she thinks Pikachu is the cutest of all the Pokemon here.

Yeaaaah, the big red one wasn't exactly cheerful. Yours isn't bad at all though. Outside of maybe ending up with frizzy hair, I think I'd like petting him.

[Translation: Yep, the cutest. She wasn't sure that's what he was going for however.]

Oh, I have one of those, too, but mine is different. [ How would he say it... ] He's more shy.

[ And yes, that was what he was going for. Though he can't easily pick favorites, Pikachu is definitely cute. ] Go ahead if you ever see him, Pikachu wouldn't mind getting pets.

[ Though... He hasn't been letting Pikachu out as of late. ]

A giant dragon that's shy? Ok, that's gotta be a first. I'm guessing he's not here though. Well, he's probably safe at home waiting for you when we finish this madness. I'll definitely give Pikachu a pet if I get the chance.

[She totally understands. Things are dangerous here and he likely doesn't want it to over-exert itself after the disease.]

Yeah, he's shy... Pretty timid. [ It's kind of pathetic, really. ] I think he would be better at home.

... He would be scared of all the people. [ YEAH. ] So where's your shop?

I should be able to find it. [ He has a good sense of direction if he isn't in a cave. ]

Is it open all the time? [ When should he even stop by...? ]

Daylight hours. I'll do special deliveries at night if there's a bind, but Doctor Watson usually has to call me up for something like that. So, basically eight to five. If I'm not in, Painwheel's usually running the counter. Don't mind her. She's a lot scarier looking than she actually is.

[Samantha might have been one of the only people who, after having met Painwheel, had managed to convince herself that the fiendish appearance was just an act.]

... Oh, I know Painwheel. [ They ate sushi together and everything!! ] We're friends.

[ Obviously, though he thought it was strange, he is easy to befriend. It's kind of pitiful. ]

Perfect. The girl needs more friends as is, honestly. I'll keep an eye out for you whenever you stop by, alright?

All right. I'll be sure to visit in a couple of days. [ With a bunch of snacks! ]
